Good afternoon Friends!
We sent our grand children off for their first day of school this week which marks the beginning of another school year. I still remember my first day in school and can share in their excitement.
We are excited about the big calves we are weaning for a change thanks to the good fall and spring rains we have been blessed with. We do need to continue to pray for rain for all those in need of some moisture including south Texas.
We have a busy fall coming up with two online sales, our 27th Annual LMC Jr. Round Up & Futurity, our 1st Annual LSMCIC Round Up and our LMC GIVING THANKS Online Sale VI. We are also hosting a party this week for our out going UTPA President and good friend Dr. Robert Nelsen and his wife Jody with our FFA and 4-H students doing the serving.
Our LMC Juniors had a great MAS, American Jr., Simbrah Round Up, ASA Summer Classic and Simmental Sweep Stakes winning three of four grand championships and three of four reserves. CONGRATULATIONS to Amelia Stavinoha, the Ontstot girls and the whole LMC Jr. Team on a job well done. We wish all of our beginning college students the best of luck. The same goes to all of our LMC Jr. Team as you go back to school.
2011 LMC Jr. Round Up
We will be hosting our 27th Annual LMC Jr. Round Up & Futurity on October 4th. It is an all day, educational, fun filled, family event open to the public for free. We have some great speakers and judges lined up. If you have never been to this event, you should make the effort as you will meet lots of good families and enjoy some great kids showing some really good cattle that they have worked very hard to train.
On October 25th, the Linn-San Manuel Community Improvement Corporation will host our First Annual LSMCIC Round Up at La Muneca Ranch. We will have Mariachi music, a rib-eye dinner ala FLO, a live auction with some awesome Christmans shopping items only sold at our annual live auction followed by C&W music by the popular Scott Randolph and his White Lightning band. Proceeds from this event which will replace our annual Cook-Off will benefit the L-SM Volunteer Fire Department, L-SM Scholarship Endowment, St. Anne’s Church, Brewster School PTO & Little League and the L-SM 4-H Club.
On November 22-25, we will be having our LMC GIVING THANKS Online Sale VI which will be a new tradition where LMC & friends will be donating 25 top quality lots with all of the proceeds being donated to several charities with most going to different breeds scholarship accounts.
If you have any questions about any of the above events and or cattle, please feel free to call any of us at your convenience.
We appreciate your friendship and support through the years. Have a fun and productive football season.
